LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is now 40 years old and has been in the NBA for 22 seasons.
He has accomplished just about everything a player can, so what is still driving him and pushing him forward?
Speaking on TNT, Candace Parker gave her insight into what motivates James at this point in his historic career.
“Greatness,” she said, adding that playing hard at all times is just built into James and is who he is.
His drive to compete and succeed is part of his DNA, Parker said.
"What do you think is still motivating [LeBron]?"

He is no longer attempting to chase down Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record and has already won multiple trophies and honors.
If he never played another game again, James would still be considered the best basketball player ever by millions of people.
And yet, James doesn’t stop or slow down and continues to push himself to his limit.
In fact, he continues to find ways to expand his limit and deliver more from his body.
He is averaging 24.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game this season and the Lakers are benefitting from his longevity and brilliant basketball mind.
They are the second team in the West and look like legitimate contenders again for the first time in several years.
That will only fire James up more, and fans could see more explosive games from him.
He just won Western Conference Player of the Week and reached 50,000 career points.
Even after all this time, James is still earning high praise, big honors, and writing his name in the history books again and again.
James is a natural competitor and someone who will not settle for less than 100 percent from himself.
