Things went from bad to worse recently for the Philadelphia 76ers when the team announced their star player, Joel Embiid, would be shut down for the rest of the season.
This came after months of knee problems and a limited output from the former MVP.
With this disappointing news came rumors and questions about Embiid.
Would the Sixers stick with him or could they contemplate trading him, some people asked.
Speaking on “Run It Back,” Chandler Parsons said the 76ers shouldn’t think about trading Embiid.
Co-hosts Danny Green, Michelle Beadle, and Lou Williams agreed with Parsons.
While they all think Embiid has a lot to prove, they believe it’s not the right time to send him away.

Embiid is currently owed nearly $250 million over the next four seasons, so the 76ers are obviously financially committed to him.
They could try to open up the trade market and seek a new home for him, but who would be willing to tackle such a salary, especially with his dismal record of injuries?
Parsons and his co-hosts agree that Philadelphia would be smarter to invest more energy and faith into Embiid.
This season might be lost for the big man, but he’s still young and they shouldn’t give up hope.
Until team doctors say there isn’t a chance of Embiid playing like he used to, they should hold onto the idea of him coming back and performing like an MVP again.
When he’s healthy, there are few players like Embiid.
But when he’s hurt, the team suffers, and, sadly, he’s been hurt far too often lately.
Some fans feel now is the time to re-think Embiid and his contract, but others believe the wait-and-see approach is smarter, at least for now.
