The Phoenix Suns are not the team they were supposed to be this year.
Fans were hoping they’d sit toward the top of the Western Conference standings, and, right now, they are the 11th seed with a 27-32 record.
There are a lot of problems in Phoenix, but Devin Booker highlighted a couple of them while speaking with Duane Rankin.
“Skipping over the details and always taking the ‘get ’em next game’ mentality. At some point, you got to draw a line and should’ve been drawn a long time ago,” Booker said, per Legion Hoops.

Booker feels that his team is too content to accept losses and hope for better luck in the future.
He says that the “get ’em next game” mindset is hurting them because it allows them to stop competing in the middle of a game because they are already planning their rebound in the next match.
He said “a line” should have been drawn a long time ago, meaning that this team should be in a better place right now.
But it feels like a turnaround for the Suns is less and less likely in 2024–25.
At this rate, they will have to fight and claw their way into the play-in tournament, and any possibility of reaching the Finals seems gone.
That isn’t the way things were supposed to be, especially with the power of Booker and Kevin Durant running things.
Speaking of Durant, there are already a number of rumors saying that he will leave the team in the summer, which means Booker might be the Suns’ new leader when next season begins.
Will they still be suffering from the same problems next year, or is there a way of getting rid of them before that?
