For the first few months of the 2024-25 season, the Houston Rockets were one of the most exciting teams in the NBA.
But things have slipped, at least a bit, in Houston, and fans are on edge.
According to Evan Sidery, the Rockets have “begun to fade over the past month after their hot start to the season.”
They are now 25th in offensive rating, with 110.8.
They are also 13th in defensive rating (114.2), 19th in overall net rating (-3.4) and have a 5-11 record over the last month.

Overall, the team is still in decent shape in the standings, holding the fifth spot in the West with a season total of 37-25.
If they can stop the slippage, they will likely have a spot in the playoffs and may be able to make some noise in the postseason.
But fans are worried this slide won’t stop and they could soon be out of postseason contention.
Or they could reach the playoffs but not have any impact.
Even when they were performing well, there were concerns about the Rockets for a number of reasons.
Firstly, they are a young team that doesn’t have much experience in the postseason.
That led some people to worry that they wouldn’t have what it takes to go beyond the regular season.
They have been dealt some bad hands and tough injuries, so some of this is out of their control.
Whatever the reason, the Rockets are running out of time to get things back on track before the playoffs.
Fans aren’t in a full-on panic yet, but they are growing increasingly nervous.
