In just a few weeks, the Oklahoma City Thunder will attempt to prove that their regular season success can be converted into playoff magic.
They have been the best team in the West all year long and have again and again shown they can beat anyone.
Therefore, it is no surprise that the Thunder are once again the top team in the NBA’s power rankings.
With their 59-12 record, the Thunder are No. 1, followed by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Lakers.
Will the Thunder end the season in this position?

It seems very likely that they will conclude 2024-25 at the top of the power rankings.
They are one win away from 60 victories for the season which is a major feat.
While other teams have suffered ups and downs since the start of the year, the Thunder have remained steadfast and seemingly unstoppable.
The Cavaliers and Thunder have been swapping first and second place on this list for the last few months, but the Cavs recently hit a rough patch and lost four games in a row.
Meanwhile, the Thunder have never lost more than two consecutive games in 2024-25.
Even though they hold the best position in the power rankings, there are still people who predict the Thunder won’t be able to surge through the playoffs.
They are guaranteed the top spot in their conference, but that doesn’t promise success or a title.
Even with all their problems, other teams in the West have been competitive and there are several who could pose a serious threat to OKC.
