The San Antonio Spurs will be without Victor Wembanyama for the rest of the season.
The loss of Wembanyama was a huge blow to the team, especially because of how well he had been playing this year.
But even after being out of the game for weeks, Wembanyama remains the best player in the NBA in a number of ways.
As noted by StatMuse, he is still first in blocks, stocks (steals and blocks), games with 2+ threes and 2+ blocks, and games with one three, one block, and one steal.
He hasn’t played since before the All-Star break, but Wembanyama continues to dominate the rest of the league.
Wemby this season:

— 1st in stocks

It’s such a shame that he won’t get to play more games this year because of his blood clot issue.
Because of that, the Spurs will have a difficult time making it into the playoffs.
Additionally, Wembanyama can no longer win end-of-season awards.
Everyone agrees that Defensive Player of the Year would have been his, but league rules prohibit him from earning it because he will only appear in 46 games this year and the NBA requires a player to suit up for 65.
Wembanyama’s game improved in just about every way this year, and his numbers were up across the board.
His offense was better, but these numbers prove that he is one of the most fearsome and tough defensive players around.
His career will be on a brief pause but hopefully he will be back at the start of next season so he can continue to deliver such strong stats.
